About the Book

With every turn of each season, the beauty of nature is paraded. Spring birds, Summer breeze, Autumn leaves, and Winter snow are what bring life to each day of the year. In Gates of Greenwich, Thelma Nichols Geary, Cheryl Geary Schultz, Kimberly Lynn Schultz, and Patricia Munson Duncan collaborate to celebrate the beauty of each season and the historic cemeteries of Greenwich. Through over one hundred fifty riveting photographs, Gates of Greenwich presents different frameworks of gates that can be marveled at in Greenwich. A trip around the captivating town conceived the idea of this book. Peppered with short poems telling the fascinating tales behind the pictures, it paints a vivid illustration of the often-disregarded art of such structures. It reveals the different appearances of gates throughout the seasons, and the façades of lonely yet arty cemeteries. From cozy looking wooden gates to rigid brick-made ones, from regal iron-made entrances to nostalgic gateways, this collection implies a divine, wistful, and heart-tugging feel of home. A cooperative effort of three generations of the same family and one resident of Greenwich, this anthology is bound to entertain and enthrall readers of all ages. Embark on a beautiful journey as you marvel at the embracing, pontifical, imposing, often dark and lonely, yet warm beauty of the Gates of Greenwich.
