About the Author

Darrell Burchfield has always enjoyed writing fiction. When he was a student at the University of New Mexico, instructors told him that they enjoyed reading his submissions because he had a great imagination. Darrell’s other love was art. After a stint in the army air corps in World War II, he made his living as an illustrator and graphic designer in advertising for many years, primarily in California. Throughout his life, Darrell loved to paint and developed a unique ability to combine illustrative detail with the free flowing medium of watercolors. Later in life, he left the advertising world, taught watercolor classes, and concentrated on his two passions—writing and painting. He has gone on to write several other books that are yet to be published. These include Molly (a sequel to The Molly Pierson), Black Skies, The Deadly Quest, Voices Forever, and Sharon’s Family.
