The First 22nd Years

About the Book

I’ve had my share of ups and down in life; my early childhood was spent imprisoned, escaping and hiding away from the tyranny of the Khmer Rouge. After many years of relocating and moving around in various Refugee Encampments with my family, my early years in the States, revealed our ignorance of freedom that we were deprived of during our stint in the many encampments. I’ve experienced sex early in my teens and at seventeen, I enlisted with the United States Armed Forces; where my sexual urges selfishly drove me to participate with various promiscuous partners while I was serving as a Combat Corpsman for the United States Navy. I am no more evil, nor am I more sinful than the general public. This autobiography is of my experiences and my wondering in life so far. Volume One will introduce you to Dara, who is born into a World similar to many whom had experienced the atrocity of unforgivable wars; the anguish and sufferings of the Killing Fields and the horrific conditions of the refugee encampments during the Khmer Rouge uprising and tyranny that stripped victims of their innocence and humanity. Dara, who was born during the chaos that stirred about in the nearby jungle of Battambong, Kampuchea and made fatherless at a very young age and stripped of his only sibling for many months and with only his young petite mother to comfort and care for him; he will go through the trials and tests of those who are of his enemies, captives and watchers. Though his story is similar to the millions of others like him; his is of unique and memorable experiences that traces back to his childhood and the evolutionary wondering experiences that he had endured. Reader’s will be made aware of his sincere experiences from his birth, the years he and his family endured under the scrutiny of terror and anguish of war, his experiences as he and his family get processed to the States; to his first day in America and the experiences and knowledge he had gained from friends and foes during his school years and the promiscuous sexual encounters that came along the way as he discovers and learns about himself to the ups and downs of his Naval Career that eventually made their ways in and out of his life of whom shared their values and creativities in creating the character he has now become. May Volume One reminds those that I have been involved with of the experiences that we have shared and endured together; whether, it has been of good or bad nature, just remember that our experiences help made us who we are today. These are events that I have retrieved from my long-term memories and humbly share with the reading public. Though not all the name of the people I have met and share my experiences with is included in this piece; I’ve given my best to describe their characteristics and behaviors to the best of my knowledge. I hope readers will remember a bit about me and may learn from my experiences and perhaps that I may have made a little difference in their lives. These forthcomings thoughts and events are of my personal experiences where I have experienced, acquired, learned from, deeply valued and have cherished to this very day. Volume is the first twenty second years of my life that have taught me to better myself through adversities.

Dara Odoe Sok wanders and soils his seeds about the Southern California Region and throughout the rest of the GOD’s Green Earth. His previous written work includes, “The First 22nd Years” and “ShinShin-Igami, the Bastard Torn and the Succubus they Slept With.” This is his third, the longest and most detailed of his written published books. He currently lives exclusively with several of adorable K-9 companions; Penny the Phantom Pepper, Mickey the Moon Monster and Louie the Leering Lemon.
