How did he get here ? The unlamented end of the great depression of the thirties started about 1939 with the war in Europe creating a demand for products made in the United States. As the need increased, so did the employment levels. Vincent entered this scenario upon graduating from a technical high school. The dearth of trained people led him to work in areas normally reserved for engineering personnel, including time spent working on the first three jet aircraft built in the United States. After years in the military, he returned to industry. Now with two university degrees behind him, he entered the world of rocket engines and worked on the first aircraft to pierce the sound barrier. Following, he entered an extended period as a teacher in public education, Including a twelve year stretch as director of a private technical school. Retiring at fifty seven, he remarked, “Finally I can do what I always wanted.” Among these activities were stained glass art work, cooking school, dinosaur sculpture, travel, designing a home in Florida and writing fiction.
