About the Book

Frank Columbo is an average American kid fresh out of high school. With no real direction in life, he decides that the Marine Corps will “make a man” out of him. This book offers the reader an inside look at a not so typical 4 year tour of duty in the United States Marines. It shows us how friendship, loyalty and life decisions affect us and those in our lives. Follow Frank as he journeys from the suburbs of New York through Marine Corps bootcamp and duty aboard the Naval Air Station in Memphis, Tennessee. Life lessons are learned, friendships are forged and romance blossoms in this coming of age work of fiction based on true events.

About the Author

Lou Scorziello is a 1985 graduate of Pelham Memorial High School in Pelham, New York. He is a former United States Marine and a veteran of Operation Desert Storm, having served on active duty from 1985-1989 and again in 1991. During those years he served aboard the Naval Air Station in Millington, Tennessee and at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. He graduated from the Westchester County Police Academy in 1991 earning honors in the area of defensive tactics and physical fitness. He is an avid bodybuilder and physical fitness enthusiast and is currently employed as a police sergeant in Spring Valley, New York where he serves as the tactical commander of his department’s elite S.W.A.T. unit. With nearly 20 years of police experience, Lou is also a certified police instructor, has earned 23 department commendations and is only 1 of 2 officers to ever receive his department’s Combat Cross Medal for heroism during an armed street encounter.
