About the Author

Scott Snyder is a 15 yearEMS, Firefighting, and Search&Rescue veteran. Working for the commonwealth of Pennsylvania as part of the Disaster Response/Anti-terrorism task force. Scott currently works as an EMT full time and lives in West Newton, Pa with wife and kids. On August 29th 2005, the world watched as the gulf coast was hit by Hurricane Katrina, a storm that changed life around the world. As many watched in disbelief and horror the events unfold others chose to do something about it. Day by day, we worked feverishly to save as many as we could and tried to cope with the lives changed, missing, and lost. Night by night we tried to put the images and sounds of our day behind us,even now they still haunt us all, to remind us, where we were and what we had to do.
