Arlington Heights, IL – (Release Date TBD) – The transition
into manhood is often difficult and confusing. There are many
choices to be made in the development of men that can be
overwhelming. An engaging talk about manhood is all set to
begin with the release of The Making of a Man (In Pursuit of
Honor), a new book authored by Richard M. Halliburton.
The text offers an in-depth discussion about the nature of
men. With several in-depth analysis and statements from
the author, it highlights the qualities, the intangible building
blocks that go into the making of a man, promoting values
such as judgment, moral rectitude, integrity, courage and
honor. This book is not purposely an attempt to qualify or
quantify the worth of a person for it focuses more on the
development of men.
About the Author
He grew up in two worlds, the upper middle class surfer beach society of Santa Monica, California, and the ghettos of South Central Los Angeles, during an era where the junior high and high school he attended were among the most notorius, not only in the city, but in the state. Transitioning from a “white boy surfer dude, go with the fl ow” mentality to chanting a mantra of “I might have to kill someone today” to prepare for survival in a foreign and hostile world surrounded by gangs and drugs, helped teach him how important individual deciscions and the choices we make each moment impact our lives. A character forged by transition and constant change, moving eighteen times before his nineteenth birthday, suffering four broken homes, physical, psychological, and emotional abuse, the author proves it is our choice to be who we are; the man we develop into.
