Collected poems of Phyllis Strong covers a broad range of themes and topics. The poem "IF" started her journey back to writing poetry after seven years. "IF" ...If the heart was never broken, how could there be a mend. If we never needed a shoulder to cry on, how could appreciation be for a friend. If we never read the Bible... With his stripes we are healed, just call on Jesus when you are ill, he´ll be right there, he´s always on time, and the service he gives, don´t cost a dime... "Good News" You hear people say; their Mom is all they had, what about the kids, that all they know is dad. You hear on the news, of those who Rob and Kill, what about the people who work hard, for the dollar bill. Let´s hear some good news, It´s some out there...

About the Author

Born and raised in Stillwater Oklahoma, Phyllis is the youngest of six. After losing her father at age nine and her mother at age ten; Phyllis and her sister Lorrice was taken in, and raised by their oldest sister. Phyllis is a graduate of C.E. Donart High School. After graduating, she worked nine years for a Company that manufactured boat engines. After her sister Lorrice died. Phyllis moved to Atlanta Georgia, were she enrolled in vocational school; getting a career education in Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy. Upon graduating, she started her Medical Assistant career in a prominent doctor’s office, assisting five doctors. After a career change, Phyllis went into the banking business. With her focus on getting debt free, she worked two fulltime jobs. At one of her jobs, God brought her in the path of Erick Strong, whom she married. Out of that covenant came their son Isaiah.
