About the Book

About the Author

My name is Christine Dolores Johnson-Williams. I am a high school graduate. I married at the young age of 19 to Edward De Leon Jr. and we had two sons. Edward died one year after we were married. I later married again and had a daughter. I have been married happily for thirty years now to my wonderful husband and soul mate Larry Lee Williams. I have three wonderful children and five spectacular grandchildren. I became disabled in the year 2000 from a car accident. I injured my back and had to have surgery. Pain is now an issue but I try to not let it get in the way of me living. I am a lot like my father in that I not only look like him, but I believe that “family is everything”. I cherish my family both close and distant. My hobbies are art and poetry. I even have had a few of my poems published. I love animals of all sorts and have rescued a few lost and hurt animals. My favorite past time though is spending it with my grandchildren. They are my world! This book was inspired by my father Turner Greaves Johnson. He was a proud man and had high morals. He always wanted me to succeed in life. He wanted the best for his children. He always talked about how important family was. He would tell us stories about where our descendants came from. He would mention names such as President Hardin and John Wesley Hardin being cousins. He would talk about our ethnicity being Scotch -Irish and Indian. All this has yet to be proven, however, he inspired me to go forward with his search to find the truth of who we are and where we came from. I have worked earnestly and diligently to ascertain the real truth, and actual facts as to my lineage and history of my family. I trust you will see my shortcomings in my writing, however, I hope you will be able to see past it and see the true value of the book. I have worked along side my sisters researching for numerous hours trying to find who we descend from. It seems it’s a never ending story, but I will keep on searching. I wanted to write this book to help others. After realizing how much work goes into to Genealogy, I thought I would be able to help others in their research if they are related to my family in some way. I had a lot of wonderful people helping me with my research and I have accumulated a lot of information. I have census records, vital records, family notes, letters, wills, and deed information. I have also been able to get my hands on a few great pictures of some of the older generations. I feel God has blessed me and I hope I can be a blessing to others. May your endeavors be successful and your dreams come true. Remember to always be nice to others because you never know…. they may be your cousin.
