My poetry is often referred to as straight from the heart

most of my poems were inspired from my own personal experiences or from the inspiration I felt when talking to others .not necessarily my thoughts

but the way I thought the other person felt, Within these pages you will find the expressions of many emotions tears of joy, sadness, laughter, love and many others, Some may even make you shed a tear or two, if so I was probably shedding a few of my own when I wrote it, I tell my friends and family that these poems were written in tears and they truly were. Not all of my poetry is sad and should apply to both male and female of all ages . My name is Mary Ann Caskey Drake I have lived in West Virginia all of my life My parents were Richard and Judy Caskey, I am happily married to Danny Joe Drake the son of Murlene and the late Billy Joe Drake Together we are blessed with a daughter Heather Leanne a son Daniel Joe and his fiancé Brittany Doss one grandson Aaron Caleb Burbett and two beautiful little girls Ashley and Brittany Caskey that we think of as our own granddaughters we are also blessed with many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews that are very special to us needless to say it has never been lonely or boring at our house. My husband worked in the coal mines and I was always a stay at home mom, I started writing poetry about six years ago. My husband and I both enjoy the outdoors and the peace and quiet of country living.
