About the Book

This book is written to share with you encouragement, humor, laughs, sadness, and feelings one might have when diagnosed with breast cancer. Even if you are not dealing with breast cancer, but know someone who has or is, this book will better help you understand some of the feelings women will often experience. This is my journal from when I first heard those terrible words, "You have breast cancer."

About the Author

Dee recently celebrated her "7th" year as a breast cancer survivor. She has a strong interest in supporting women diagnosed with breast cancer and their caregivers. She has traveled to speak in Singapore, Florida, Switzerland and many other areas. She loves to share her story with hopes of supporting and giving hope to others battling breast cancer, along with educating those that work in the field of medicine. Dee enjoys traveling, meeting people, supporting others, and making people feel good about themselves. To her surprise, her oncologist nominated her for an award. She was honored recently as one of the 2009 Susan G. Komen Outstanding Breast Cancer Survivors at a Celebrate Life! Luncheon held in Philadelphia. What a surprise and honor! Dee, Jim, Niki, and Jayla spent seven days over the Christmas holiday in Disneyworld. While there, they also celebrated Dee’s two-year survivorship. They were chosen out of the crowd to ride on one of the floats in the Disney parade. What an awesome moment and something they will remember for life! Dee advises her readers to “Never, ever give up on your dreams!” It really doesn’t matter how long it takes to reach the dream, it is all about working on the dream to achieve it. Dee currently resides in Waldorf, Md. with her daughter and lovely granddaughter. “Thanks, Niki, Jayla, Jim, my family, friends, colleagues, and new friends that I have met through this journey for all your support, love, and prayers. Without you, this book would just be a thought. Thanks for all the encouragement. God bless you!” Dee has purchased that Mercedes Benz; however, she has not won the lottery yet. :) Thank God, SEVEN years later, I am still standing strong! Dee was born and raised in a small town, Fruitland, Maryland, about twenty-five miles from Ocean City, Maryland. She always has a positive outlook on life and loves people.
