About the Book

Do you sit and ponder about areas in your life that hinder happiness? Longing for the joy you once had or thought you had? We all have issues that need to be addressed. Until they surface, we don’t know they are there just like Mary Ann. Sitting on her front porch reminiscing about her wedding day, Mary Ann had anything but pleasurable thoughts roaming through her mind. In fact, her thoughts were now of hopeless discouragement and failure. She looked back upon that day when Brian lifted the veil from her face and smiled sweetly before he kissed her hard on the lips, sealing their love for eternity. She sighed. What happened to that couple, where did the love go? Why couldn’t she be satisfied or happy? There comes a time in everyone’s life that you must examine your own heart and decide where you are going and where you are at and are they at odds with each other. Like many of us, Mary Ann was doing just that and still she had no answers. Jesus came to set the Captives free; yet, we the body of Christ are anything but free. When lifting the veil, think about the beauty of the traditional wedding such as Mary Ann’s. There at the altar, before the kiss, the bridegroom lifts the veils and gazes lovingly upon his beautiful bride. He doesn’t see anything but her rare beauty. No blemishes, frowns, or stress lines. All he can see is a beautiful woman that is about to become his wife. Somewhere later on, perhaps years later, the veil is placed back over the face. Why? Trying to cover up what is truly underneath. Paul state, “their minds were made dull’ When the heart is full of pain, it creates emotions that are triggered from those painful situations. If we do not address and unveil them, they will begin to grow over time and bring the heart into a waxed and hardened state. (Act 28:27) If we choose to address the issues in our hearts and mind, God is still the compassionate and loving Father who will bring healing to our weary, broken lives. We only have so much time on Earth. We can affect the amount of time that we have to actually walk in the fullness of our destiny! We can choose to step into the plans that God has for us or we can waste our time by struggling with our issues and ourselves. Are you ready? God asks, “Let me teach you how to walk effectively in my power and Glory.” We long to be free and to walk in the power of His Glory and we cry out, “God, I don’t care what You have to do; melt me, break me, smash me, crush me, and mold me, because I just can’t continue to be the way that I am any longer!” That means we must be willing to let the veil fall from our faces, from our hearts and from our minds. It is our hearts that securely retains the painful memories from our past neatly locked in dark caves for protection. That is why we struggle with certain areas in our lives. Are you longing for freedom? Tired of hiding behind the addictions that have aided you in dealing with the past? Are you living in a man-made world of acceptance or the need to be loved? Is your sleep robbed by re-occurring nightmares? Do you feel love for your husband? Are you afraid to see an old acquaintance in the store? These and so many other areas will be answered in this book. If you are struggling with any issue, you may enjoy the tools in this book that break you free from veils, keeping you from enjoying life with friends, church members, and family. Are You Ready? The Choice Remains in Your Court.
