About the Author
At eighty-three going on 84, author E. L. Pond Jr. is still active and lives by himself. He grew up in Dimmit County, Texas and has spent his life working or managing ranches. He worked in South Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico and was a top hand. He lost an arm at age 16 just three days before he was to report to the army for World War II. He has one arm and yet he could still out-rope and out-ride anybody on the ranch. He wrote his first book, One-Armed Cowboy, in 2004. His readers kept asking for more adventures or asked him why he had left out experiences that they remembered as well. This second volume of the book continues with his adventures. It explains how the author struggled to cope with his handicap. Pond’s life will inspire others with disabilities like him. It is a testament that disability is not a hurdle to living life to the fullest.
