Hurless was born in northeast Nebraska in 1926. He lived through the Great Depression in very trying circumstances. He served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. He earned a Bachelor of Sci-ence degree in Electrical Engineering in 3 1/2 years at the University of Idaho. He enjoyed success serving as an executive manager in charge of planning, design, budgeting, scheduling, construction and financial control of what, at that time, was the largest and most complex electric utility system in the world. He has been an astute, active observer and vocal critic of the participants in the political arena at the local, state, and national levels. Life experiences have taught him to trust his instincts. In the early 1990’s major flaws in the management modus operandi of the ruling “Boomer Generation” became a major concern. This book was written to share those concerns with others, hoping to stimulate corrective action. The situation in the publishing field at that time proved to be an insurmountable obstacle. That has changed. Today, our country is on "life support". Have his worst fears have come to fruition? Promotional comments by our leaders expressing optimism that our economy will recover must be viewed with great skepticism. Corrective action must be based on the knowledge of what "got us here". This book is a bountiful source of that information!
