L. Z. Marenco grew up on a ranch and farm outside of Columbus, Texas. She attended the University of Texas at Austin and studied a composite of Earth Sciences, Life Sciences, and English. She was certified to teach these areas, and her teaching experiences were varied. L.Z. Marenco spent time in South America and married there. She and her husband currently call Houston, Texas home.
