About the Book

Corrie, Crystal, Earleen and Winnie grew up in the same neighborhood, married, their prince charmings and brought their children up together. Having begun as “mere Cinderella’s”, support and care for each other despite mountainous circumstances they have no choice but to confront. They emerge triumphant as these very trials have become the jewels in their queenly crowns. Four women. Four who met as young girls. Four who forged “Beyond Blood Ties” bonds throughout 50 years. With faith, love and sacrifice their lives become interwoven on a tapestry of threads made strong by life’s challenges, adversities, laughter, tears and love.

About the Author

Shirley Ayon is a high school English teacher currently residing with her husband on the Garden Isle of Kauai in Hawai’i. She received her B.A. in English, then her M.A. in English Education at Cal State, Northridge, in Southern California. At present, Shirley is enjoying learning hula. She also participates in various community and church volunteer activities. Shirley has been preparing this memoir as a tribute to her four childhood friends who encouraged her to write the “story of us.” This work courageously divulges the story of their ever-evolving faith in the “One” who deserves the divine credit in their midst.
