Not too long ago people once lived in the mountains and forests of what is now known as the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia just 90 minutes from the nation’s capitol. Recently, some hikers have entered the park only to completely vanish. No trace of the missing hikers, not even a tattered piece of cloth or a body part has been retrieved leaving their loved ones grief stricken. How could this have happened to innocent hikers? What mysterious evil lurks in the park that can make people disappear never to be heard from again? Joe Lynch is a very ordinary federal employee in Washington, D.C. with extraordinary skills. When Joe decides to hike in the park against the wishes of his wife and family, he confronts this evil head on. To make matters worse, Joe runs into a history-making storm as he attempts to summit one of the tallest mountains in the park. Will he survive these encounters? Or, will Joe end up like the other missing hikers with all traces of him fast becoming a distant memory?

About the Author

John Harris was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in the nearby Maryland suburbs. A career federal civil servant and student of Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate for fifteen years, John retired in the autumn of 2002. He was awarded a black belt degree from Mr. Thomas Boddie of New York City in 1979.
