About the Book

This is a book about hope and possibilities. Conrad Knudsen takes us through the tragedy of a heart attack at age 41 and shares the personal journey that led him to understanding of the events underlying his heart attack. As he learned to bring vitality back into his life, he realized that “the heart attack was one of the best things to happen to me because it awoke me to the destructive habits that hurt me and then led me to a more creative way of living.” With passion and insight, Knudsen shares his techniques for finding and sustaining health. This book is a must-read for people who are ready to challenge the ideas that underlie traditional approaches to pain and disease.

About the Author

Conrad Knudsen is a long-time resident of Marin County, California and since 1979 has worked with people whose vitality has been diminished due to chronic pain and disease. As a biofeedback therapist and counselor, he has helped hundreds of people regain control over their lives and health. Knudsen was a participant in Dean Ornish’s pioneering research on life style changes for people living with heart disease, and has facilitated Ornish's support groups in the San Francisco area since the program went public. He also travels nationally as a speaker at Ornish programs held in hospitals across the country. Conrad continues his work using biofeedback techniques, creative writing workshops, and group sessions for the management of chronic pain and disease.
