About the Author

My name is Rushini Keshidhi Jayawardena and I am 15 years old. I was born on April 27, 1994 in an island off the coast of India called Sri Lanka. I was 10 years old when I wrote my first poem and since then poetry has been the biggest part of me. The heart of my talent comes from my experiences as well as my mistakes and in my poetry I always own up to them. The people who know me know that I am an emotionally closed up person, but in my poetry I am as naked as I can be; truthful, cold and sometimes hopeful. Most teenagers like to play sports, hang out with their friends or play games but I choose to write and that’s where my heart will always be.
