About the Author

Barbara Martin, who was born and raised in South Africa, evidenced at a very young age a great love and appreciation for animals and nature. She was later to find joy in the South African Bushveld, walking among the animals, and in the farming of crops and livestock. Following these pursuits, leading an active and exciting life, she has amassed wonderful and unusual experiences, not only in her homeland, but in Australia, Costa Rica and the United States. At the age of seven she began writing poetry and later on, encouraged by three school teachers, she developed a love of the English language and the written word. She is the author of several Natural Healing books and a book of poetry. Tommy’s Unforgettable Christmas is a moving story and the first in a series of ‘Tommy’ books, which are not only entertaining, but also inspirational and educational. As an Homeopathic Practitioner she has been able to help humans, all types of animals and birds regain their health in four countries for over 50 years. She has diplomas in Veterinary Technology, as well as Live Cell Morphology, and a Ph.D. Her books on the treatment of animals are used by some Veterinarians in their practices. Today, as a grandmother, still active, learning and growing, she is surrounded by the animals she loves and the smell of freshly ploughed soil in Utah.
