About the Book

Breaking Chains was ushered in behind the birth of Refl ections of Madison because God empowers me through the Holy Spirit to continue this journey with His inspiration, direction and gift of writing. As Victoria faces turmoil and loss in her life, her faith wavers and breaks when she turns from the one constant upon which she should depend. This leaves her vulnerable to forces that malevolently twist her life into a pain-fi lled journey of discovery, whereupon she eventually realizes that she had the solution to her problems in her heart all along. Breaking the chains of old is a process of identifying and eliminating or conquering generational sins. In my opinion: once you’ve been in the presence of God. He gives you the power of discernment… to identify the sin and the tools to conquer sin, individually.

About the Author

I was born on August 8, 1968 in Newark, New Jersey, the oldest of five siblings and two extended siblings. My parents moved to Columbia, South Carolina in hopes of providing a better life for our family. South Carolina is where I met and married Darien, my mesmerizing husband of 17 years. I am the mother to four amazing children: Eric, Ayla, Arlieta and Claressa. I am also the grandmother of three awesome grandchildren: Sadé, Carmyn and Eric Jr. I have always had a vivid imagination. As a child, one of my dreams was to become a writer. As a college student my writing ability was nurtured and began to flourish. I wrote my first novel, Reflections of Madison, in hopes of fulfilling my lifelong dream. The motivation for writing this fiction novel was to become a better me. The message I would like to have you take from the story line is: Keep God first in your life and pray. Prayer is powerful. You have to have faith in God and believe in yourself. Everyone will go through trials, but it's better to go through the toughest of times with your family. My point is that you have to keep pressing forward and never settle. If you believe in yourself you can achieve anything. Never let your dreams get so far ahead of you that they aren't attainable. I have always believed in God, but this novel was birthed during a joy-filled time of my life when God was most prevalent. I felt that God was pushing me into the next stage of my life. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. God’s word tells us, “Ask anything in My name and I shall do it.” Amen!
