About the Book

Hello Poetry Fans, I was born in Augusta, Georgia, on November 7, 1957. I am a Scorpio, and they say we are the romantics. I was raised an only child by my mother, Mrs. Catherine Hollifield Ford. Times were hard, and I believe I would’ve been considered an original latch key kid. By the time I was eight years old, I was sleeping in our home alone, and cooking for myself, while my mother worked third shift. I grew up quickly, and saw life’s struggles clearer than most kids my age. When I was fifteen years old, while most kids were out playing, I was on the phone with various people, mostly girls, talking about their problems. It was during this time that I began to write. These poems you are about to read, are a collection of many years work. My style may be contemporary, but the feelings I share are genuine. I’d like to dedicate this book to all the kids I grew up with from the various schools I attended, without whom I would never have had many of these experiences. These kids went to the following schools: Wilkinson Garden Elementary, Belvedere Elementary, Summerfield Elementary, N. Augusta Elementary, N. Augusta Junior High, Paul Knox Junior High, and N. Augusta Senior High. You guys rock. I’d also like to thank my wife Debbie, my sons Kenny and Cole, and my daughters Corbie, Olivia, and Lydia for putting up with me these many years. I love you. Please enjoy. Wally’Gator’ Ford

About the Author

Born on November 7, 1957 in Augusta, Ga., I was raised an only child, by a single parent. My mother, Catherine Hollifield Ford instilled in me early in life that I could accomplish anything. I learned early to cook for myself, and having to grow up quickly, gave me the insight to put my feelings on paper. Over the years, with the help of family and friends, I have discovered a passion for cooking and writing poetry. In this book, I've combined the best of both worlds. It is my honor, and pleasure, to share with you all Fantasies and Fare.
