About the Book

From the Bench is Debbi’s view of life from the piano bench. In this book you’ll meet a little girl enveloped in love and lessons from all those around her. Her desire to play the piano and sing will capture you, drawing you into the stories of her life as you find yourself laughing and crying. Her unique look at life will inspire you and encourage you to take a look at your own life and appreciate your blessings. Each story in this book can stand alone, but together they begin to weave a tapestry of love for Jesus and family, showing the importance of each person she encounters, and the dimension they have added to her life. From the Bench will inspire your entire family and prove that family values are never old and are meant to be passed on.

About the Author

Her grandmother’s five dollar birthday gift paid for piano lessons that took her from leading a congregation in worship; to driving with Tommy Graham (Elvis’s piano player) from Lake Geneva to Chicago for a White Castle hamburger; to performing a concert at the 2001 National Terrorism Conference in Yorktown, Virginia; to Music Director for the largest Navy chapel on the east coast; to being invited to the White House three years in a row; to attending Carl Braschear’s funeral (the first black deep sea diver for the Navy); to playing for a Naval Captain’s retirement ceremony; to organizing and founding The St. John Foundation, making music ministry a possibility for youth; to shipping a keyboard to a congregation in Chirala, Andhra Pradesh, India, used in their crusades. Her life is full playing for a church, writing music, recording a new Christmas album, promoting the Foundation, performing concerts, writing stories and enjoying family and friends...all beginning at a piano bench.
