About the Book
When Harry Barnes reluctantly returns to his hometown of Grander to settle his aunt’s estate, the memories he had carefully suppressed over the years are suddenly awakened. His high school sweetheart, the lovely Rosemary, is more tantalizing than ever; and his love for her is quickly fanned to intense heat. Rosemary, however, is living with Sam Leonard, Harry’s lifelong boyhood friend. The dilemma facing him is exacerbated by his numbing guilt for his shameful neglect of his aunt in the past, as well as his haunting sense of failure as a high school athlete . Ultimately, love leads Harry to redemption and atonement.
About the Author
Richard Harriman has a varied history as an x-ray technician, a high school English teacher, the owner of a quick-printing business, and a writer, editor, publisher, photographer, and promoter for the City of Greensboro, North Carolina. In his idle hours, he is an avid sewer, an oil painter, a metal sculptor, a wood sculptor, and a cabinetmaker. This—his first novel at age eighty—“is a long time coming,” he says. “Now that it’s off my chest, I can begin to think of other things to do.”
