About the Book
A guide and journal for young acting students and anyone wanting to work in films. Whitehawk recently worked for the Coen Brothers "True Grit," as the back cover photo shows the author in costume and make-up for the nationally acclaimed movie. Whitehawk has worked on films including, but not limited to, "Day After Tomorrow," "The Newton Boys," "Varsity Blues," and received seven seconds "on-screen" time in Quentin Tarrantino's "Death Proof" as the "chef with the spatula in the kitchen window," as well as many other films and made-for-television movies. The world-wide book release for Texas Extras was held at the Landlocked Film Festival in Iowa City, Iowa. Film buffs, actors, and on-lookers gathered in front of the Englert Theater where the meet-and-greet was held in conjunction with the Green Carpet event at the festival. Later, a reading from "Texas Extras" was held at Bill's Boomart, part of Uptown Bill's Coffee Shop, along with book signing and photo opportunities.
