Pancreatic Cancer: It's a Family Affair

About the Book

This is not another book about cancer. The 22 contributors from 20 families who have contributed their stories, their feelings and their advice have done so in order to help others feel that they are not alone. They represent spouses, siblings, adult children and patients themselves. There are 4 survivors as of the writing of this book. In addition, all proceeds from the sale of this book will be going to the Lustgarten Foundation and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network that offer support and research for an eventual cure of this deadly disease.

About the Author

Lisa M. Strahs-Lorenc is the widow of Fred Strahs-Lorenc who died of pancreatic cancer on January 30, 2009. They were together for 33 ½ years and have two children, Sari and Ryan. In the 11 years since his passing, she has been with a fellow widower for the past eight years. During this time she held an engagement party for her daughter, a wedding in California, and has three granddaughters. Lisa saw her son graduate from college, grow in his career and buy a home in Florida. Lisa has changed jobs a number of times and is self-employed.

This book is an important passion project for her to support others who have lost their loved ones, a support how life goes on, and supports the research of the Lustgarten Foundation for early detection and an eventual cure for this deadly disease.
