About the Book

"The author, Tonya Sater, worked with loving devotion to bring this personal
collection of poems to readers everywhere in need of encouragement. A refreshing
view of life, enhanced by her own near-death experience, and a rich faith in
Jesus, gives Tonya a unique ability to bless the down hearted and those dealing
with memory loss. This book of poems will bring back fond memories and
help to remind both readers and hearers of all the wonderful things God has
done in their lives.
Tonya was involved in a near fatal car accident at the age of sixteen, resulting in
almost complete amnesia. When she awoke from her coma, her Grandmother,
Leona, stayed by her side and helped to teach her basic life skills. Her constant
loving support and encouragement helped Tonya to recover far beyond the
expectations of the medical world. In a real example of reaping what is sown,
Tonya’s tragic experience and faith led her to be at her Grandmother’s side when
Leona’s own memory began deteriorating due to Alzheimer’s.
These poems were written and delivered each week to Leona by Tonya and her
5 children. Along with the poems came the precious art work prepared by the
loving hands of her great-grandchildren, Trevon, Nathan, Ryan, Kristina and
Katelyn, all intended to brighten their Grandmother’s days. Waiting for them
in her room was Leona with the 3-ring binder titled “Notes to Grandma.”
This book is the collection of poems written to her; a few, light and carefree,
well suited for children, and others deep and insightful, focused on adults
who miss the innocence of youth and the truly great things in life. They are
a wonderful reminder of the Golden Rule and the magnifi cent work God has
done and can do in our lives.
