The Author, Wilma Collins Jackson was born in Memphis, TN. Her late Mother, Mary White-Collins and Father, Spencer Collins had 12 children. Wilma being the 12th child. Born, in the same house now located on Beale Street as was W. C. Handy; a Historical Landmark. Even as a young girl, she craved something more than the southern life style. She left home and lived in Chicago, Ill with a sister for a short period. She came back home to Memphis, out of the love and concern for her elderly mother. Oil painting and writing was her pass time, now has became her life. Her writings are inspired from real life events.
