About the Author

During my teen years I was a rebel and got myself into trouble with the law. It was only when I turned 21 and became a Christian that my life changed direction. All my life I have loved the mountains of Colorado and when I was 29, I finally got the chance to move to this state. I spent the next 40 years working and playing in those magnificent mountains and learned many of their secrets. During that time I read much Colorado history and especially the history of the mines. I found it fascinating and the desire to know more continued to draw me into a quest for a deeper understanding of those times and places. To get the feel of the mines, I worked many years in various underground jobs. Through my reading of western fiction I discovered that most western stories did not include the subject of Colorado mining and there is a wealth material that was being wasted. Because I had that field of writing from a Christian perspective largely to myself, I decided to put some stories together that closely paralleled actual history. My hope is that other writers will take up the cause and write more wholesome stories of that type.
