About the Book

On September 11, 2001, the world was changed forever. The United States of America was a victim of the worst terrorist attack in its history, and thousands of lives were lost. Now, we seem to think of 9-11 as the dividing line between how things were before that date and how things are since. The Pledge: A New Understanding is a poem about the meaning behind the words we say each time we face our country‛s flag. Written by Carole Blume- D‛Ausilio, Ed.D., author of The Bronx Bully, this book of patriotic verse is sure to be enjoyed by children of all ages for many years to come.

About the Author

Carole Blume-D‛Ausilio received her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University. She has been an educator for 26 years and currently serves as writing curriculum support in a Ft. Lauderdale school. Dr. D‛Ausilio has been writing poetry since she was in elementary school. The Pledge: A New Understanding is Dr. D‛Ausilio‛s second book. She has two sons, Brandon and Tyler, three cats, Angel Momma, Sushi, and Kiz, and a sweet golden retriever, Ollie. She presently lives in Boca Raton.
