This little book was written for my children. They are grown now, and I have a Grandchild. I have always loved to read and I loved reading to them. They went to the Library often. My Daughter was five years old and her brother was three when they got their first Library cards. I made up stories to tell them and they would make up stories to tell me. I took "Little Sugar Cube" to school and read it to my students when I worked as a substitute teacher. Now, I am reading it to my Grandchild. He has his own Library. I think reading to children is one of the most important things a parent can do for a child, after loving them. Both of mine are Readers to this day. Collecting bookmarks is one of my hobbies. I have been seeking them out for my collection for the last forty-three years. Friends, neighbors and relatives give me bookmarks. They know I love them. When my son was in the in the second grade, his teacher posed the question: "Does anyone knew an author?" She told me he raised his hand and said, "I do, Tolstoy." That made her laugh. I was reading Tolstoy's biography at the time. I always talk about the book I am reading. Jeri Holt Lives in Colorado
