There once was a cat that wore a hat, One with a velvet trim. Oh! This was a sight for one to behold. The cat with a hat named Slim. Slim lived way back in the woods, Far from car or train. He had no special family For it was I who gave him his name.

About the Author

Marti Ann Sadowski-Tobergte was born in Hamilton, Ohio. She has since lived in Schaumburg, Illinois, Peachtree City, Georgia, and presently Bluffton, South Carolina. Marti Ann has written several children's poems but this is her first publication. This poem was originally written in 1970. She is very excited to have the opportunity to bring this story to children of all ages.
