About the Author

Anne Punton back cover bio Anne Punton grew up in the Shetland Islands, graduated from Glasgow University, then worked in Israel and London with the Anglican church for 27 years. Due to multiple sclerosis she took early retirement in 1992, moved to Yorkshire and unexpectedly found herself married to Jack, a fit, busy, octogenarian 26 years her senior. Anne has written two books about Israel, “View the Land” under her maiden name of Dexter, and “The World Jesus Knew” which has been translated into Spanish and Italian. She now lives in a nursing home where, despite increasing physical disability, she continues to write and keep mentally active. Jack Punton back cover bio Jack Punton, whose life is described in this book, was a wonderful example of an ordinary man who made an extraordinary contribution to society. Without fuss or fanfare he quietly believed in God and lived accordingly with integrity and passion, and made a lasting impact on those who met him. Beyond that, he made a significant contribution to the lives of many needy children through his marathon charity walks .While this book is about Jack it is also a window on the heart and soul of England.
