About the Book

"With a comprehensive study of libraries, archives, court houses, churches, land offices, maps and histories of nations and people the story of the William Nash and Anne Hopkins family comes to life in this book. The amusing and often tongue-in-cheek manner in which Bill Nash tells the story gives the reader a clear picture of the family saga. From the 1635 sailing from London to the present, this is the story of a courageous and proud people. Much more than just charts and lineages, “Our Nashes” intertwines the history of this nation with the Nash family into a hard-to-put-down volume."

About the Author

William V. “Bill” Nash 1929-2011 An engineering background gives Bill Nash the analytical mind and skills to be a problem-solver. The problems involved in genealogical research were right up his alley. Bill is not a prolific writer, but this project captured his attention. After he retired, Bill spent much of his time researching and gathering information on his family heritage. Traveling across America and into the United Kingdom he followed leads. Unfortunately, he became very ill before it was finished and passed away. He lived in Huntsville, Texas with his beautiful wife, Una Grace. Bernice Dowden Elgar Bernice Elgar is an avid researcher and does genealogy as a hobby. Tracing her family roots occupied much of her time over the years. Her skills as a bookkeeper give her the attention to detail needed to follow a timeline and keep order in the family line. She is retired and lives in Port Neches, Texas where she is a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Carolyn Dowden Jamail Carolyn Jamail spent many years in the confectionary industry and loves to read. Her creative mind and love of family spurred her into the genealogy field. With a keen memory for facts and situations, Carolyn is well-suited to the family history; and she enjoys sharing her knowledge of the family with others. She is retired and lives in Spring, Texas with her husband.
