About the Author

Apostle James Mills Sr. is the Shepherd of Newness of Life Bible Church located in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Apostle Mills is a native of Capitol Heights, Maryland who now resides in Fort Washington, Maryland with his lovely wife, Lady Vanessa Mills. Apostle Mills and Lady Vanessa also have 3 children: 1 daughter, Tierra Mills and 2 sons, James Mills II (Jay) and Jason Mills. They are also the proud grandparents of 2 grandsons James Mills III and Jason Mills Jr.! Apostle Mills received the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of 21. He was ordained into the ministry by the late Elder William R. Vicks, Pastor of the Righteous Church of God located in Washington, D.C. In September 1982, Apostle Mills was installed and sent to Pastor the Righteous Church of God Mission Church in Warrenton, Virginia. In October 1991, this mission church re-established itself as the Newness of Life Bible Church in Bealton, Virginia with Apostle Mills as the founding Pastor through the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit. It was then that the Lord began to pour out His Spirit upon Apostle Mills and he began moving and operating in the fullness of the Spirit of God... “Not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power. (1 Corinthians 2:4b) Apostle Mills is a true Shepherd and servant of God’s people, who daily and continually gives of himself to fulfill the purpose of the anointed ministry God has entrusted to him. He has answered the call on his life to “Preach the Gospel to the poor...heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised (Luke 4:18), and he continues to answer this call. Apostle Mills operates in the gifts of the Spirit, especially the Power gifts: miracles, healing and faith. Apostle Mills believes in the resurrection power of Jesus Christ, and through this God has operated through Apostle Mills to heal the sick, to open blind eyes (spiritually and naturally), to cause the deaf to hear, the mute to speak, to cast out devils, and also to raise the dead twice. Because of the great works he has done, the Lord has blessed Pastor Mills with the following degrees from the Spirit of Truth Institute of Studies: Bachelors of Ministry Degree, Masters of Pastoral Counseling, Earned Doctorate in Christian Education and Honorary Doctorate in Humanities. Having said all of this the true heart of Apostle Mills is to bring the body of Christ to their true identity of knowing who they are in Christ and exercising their authority.
