About the Artist Lieutenant Colonel Don Ulmer, US Army(Retired) He grew up in Phelps NY; graduated from the Collage of Ceramics, Alfred University in 1959; Served on military active duty for over 21 years in several states and overseas assignments in Italy, Vietnam, and Jordan; painted bill boards for Gannett outdoor in Connecticut ( 1985- 1995) and returned to Phelps in 1997, where he presently resides. Don retains membership in the Phelps Community Historical Society, Phelps Art Center, and the Phelps American Legion. I'd like to thank Don for all the wonderful art work he contributed to make this book possible.
