About the Book

As a young girl, growing up in Jackson, Mississippi, Lina has traveled a dark and gloomy road of loneliness and despair. She longed to escape her childhood miseries and become her own woman. Now at the age of 25, Lina has finally fled Mississippi with fervent endeavors to encounter a new life in Alabama. Her dry and monotonous life of all-work-and-no-play has made her a very dull gal’, but a hot, new position at Speakin’ Out News, takes her on a vivacious journey of acceptance, courage, truth, and love. The question is, will Ms. Lina survive The Assignment, or be consumed?

About the Author

Midchild Carter was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. The young author has obtained a B.S. in Psychology from Delaware State University and a cosmetology license through Empire Beauty School. She is now attending Strayer University in the pursuit of her M.B.A. in Human Resources. Ms. Carter has dabbled in literature since she was eleven years old. This may be her first published novel, but surely she is no virgin to the pen and pad. “Although I’ve pursued a few other interests aside from writing, writing has always rested in the core of my heart, providing personal guidance, healing, and growth.”
