About the Author

The author and illustrator are mother and daughter. Both Maxine and Mindy enjoyed a rich childhood and as adults love looking at the world through children’s eyes. Maxine Hamblin is a mother of five and grandmother of eight. She grew up in Arkansas and Texas. She now resides in Northern California where she and her husband both teach elementary school. Mindy Wiles was raised in Northern California. She is now married with three children and lives in Arizona. Mindy works in health care and is also a volunteer at the local elementary school where she teaches art lessons.
