About the Book

B. Retelling the stories from Okanogan elders, the author begins in Wenatchee, WA and follows the trail now known as Highway 97 heading north into British Columbia, Canada. The book is arranged as if the author is traveling with you on your adventure through time, including stories of places and events as seen through the eyes of the native settlers of the area.

About the Author

My father is George Paul Marchand, from the Okanagan Indian Band #1. My mother is, Sophie Alice Verdan Marchand from the Penticton Indian Band. I am an Okanagan Indian and Member of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, my Indian name is ML KNOOPS, (meaning Eagle), my Christian name is Arnold N. Marchand.It is an honor to have you read some of these stories on your way through the traditional territories of the Okanagan Indian People. Thank you.
