After attending Occidental College in Los Angeles, he served two years in
the Peace Corps in Peru, teaching English, learning Spanish, and making
some very good friends. Upon returning to the U.S., Steve worked in the
Washington, D.C. offi ces of the Peace Corps for four years. Following a
Reduction-in-Force order by then President Nixon, he worked several
construction and hauling jobs in the D.C. area-at one time hauling trash
from the White House-before returning to California to marry and enter
his family’s soft water business. With the eventual sale of that business,
Steve was able to enter the travel and tours business with the purchase
of a local travel agency-once leading his own tour of Europe-before his
divorce and eventual move to the greater LA and Orange County areas.
After a few years there, life’s journey then led Steve to Colorado and a
succession of jobs ranging from ranch hand to hotel clerk. He now resides
in Denver, retired.
