About the Book
This has been a book long in the making for well over 10 years or
more. It’s about the life of a black babyboomer growing up in
the city of Charleston, South Carolina amid revolutionary and
significant social changes of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. In addition, it offers a
commentary on life in the palmetto state and on some of the memorable
events and personalities as seen through the eyes of this babyboomer. You
may have noticed inside the cover that the author mentions being the
son of Mary Frazier (phrased as Mary [sic] son) as opposed to the correct
phraseology, “Mary’s son.” As indicated by the sic erat scriptum, the author
has done this with the intention of conveying to the reading audience the
‘flavor’ and character of the speaking dialect consistent with the people
indigenous to Charleston proper.
I thank you for buying my book and
sincerely hope you enjoy the read !
About the Author
Rudolph F. Wiggins, formerly Rudolph Frazier hails from Charleston, South Carolina and attended public grade schools, a high school and one college preparatory school (Charleston High) there. Mr. Wiggins is a freelance writer and an occasional context writer with two online websites— fuszball.com and fuszball.com/blog. One of Mr. Wiggins’ claim to fame there in Charleston was that he met with Elizabeth O’Neil Verner in the 70’s, a chance meeting which ultimately enabled him to indulge in his chosen passion at that time—art. Like most residents of Charleston, South Carolina, Mr. Wiggins experienced all the charm and gentility of one of the south’s most beloved cities and one of the county’s most historic.
