About the Author

Hi, my name is Mindy Ro e Mello. I'm 9 3/4 years old and in 5th grade. My favorite colors are royal blue, violet, and aquamarine. I enjoy playing four square , handball, and climbing on the monkey bars with my friends. My favorite subjects are math, science, and art. My favorite show is “ Mermaid Melody". My most favorite books are all written kids books by Rick Riodan. He is an amazing author! I love the movie "The Lorax" from 2012. I have a dad named Robert, a mom named Dorie, and a big sister named Misty. When I grow up, I want to be an animator and draw Japanese animation. I really loved writing this book! Eva really inspired me to do this. She is my best friend wanted to do something magical for the book. That's when I got the idea. Me and my mom then combined our ideas and wrote the story together. I won the creative SSDTA writing contest 2011-2012 because of this book. I hope you enjoy the book as much as my school did!
