About the Author

Patrick O’Mara earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communication from Southern Illinois University, where he also won the “Orator Award” as a member of the collegiate speech team. His passion for delivering presentations carried him into his fi rst public speaking job as a Corporate Trainer at State Farm Insurance. Patrick also served as an Adjunct Speech Instructor at Virginia College, and now teaches at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In addition to his work with colleges and universities, he served as a contract speaker for Monster and currently delivers Public Speaking Workshops to a variety of employee and leadership development groups at Southern Company. Patrick lives in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife and two daughters.
