Along the way she meets many other eight legged friends and runs into many obstacles such as ferocious animals, hot sand dunes, rapid rivers and the terribly feared humans. But she isn't alone! When she begins the journey she meets a friendly, intelligent, but sarcastic Brachypelma Smithi, named Flare. Because he is highly fascinated in her ways and not fearful towards her, he promises to show her the way to the rainforest where her kind, the elder Praying Mantis, originates. However, he doesn't know the way at all. He is of no help while her hot-headed ways almost gets the best of her and in disappointment, she threatens to kill. Soon terror strikes, for the two innocent tarantulas do not know what is in store.
