About the Book

This book follows one person’s struggle to grow up in a house of violence and abuse. It chronicles all those decisions when we are at the crossroads of life and fail to make the right choices. It shows clearly how thinking with one’s heart instead of one’s head can lead to disastrous outcomes in life. It further documents the cycle that abused children may follow in seeking partners for life. It is full of heartbreak and success and clearly shows one person’s path of perseverance and unconditional love for her child.

About the Author

Michaele Clour was born in Kansas City, Missouri and has lived in New York City, the States of Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Kansas in 1981, her Master’s Degree from Kansas State University in 1990 and her PhD from Southwest University in Kenner, La. in 2000. She has spent 37 years working in the field of disabilities, primarily with individuals with developmental disabilities. She currently works of the State of Kansas and is looking forward to retirement and spending time with her beloved son and grandchildren.
