About the Book

The Adventures of Sally the Squirrel takes place in a thick forest. There are beautiful waterfalls that surround her tree house. Sally is a very bright squirrel. Although she is unsure of herself and becomes nervous when she has to go to school, she is determined to accomplish her goal. She wants to make it to her first day of school. Sally makes friends easily, but she finds her “friendly ways” are not so helpful in the forest. Several bullies confront Sally. These animals try to stop her from going to school. About the Author

I was born in Pennsylvania, out in the country. I was raised on a small farm. I still reside in Pennsylvania and live out in the country. I am a mother of four and a grandmother of three. My husband and I enjoy spending time with our children and grandchildren. I always had a love for animals and liked taking care of them. I always surrounded myself with activities that included animals. I rode horses for years and always had a special spot in my heart for animals that were in need of help. This connection inspired me to include animals as my characters, and being an elementary teacher, I try to discourage bullying at school. At Ross Elementary, we say a bullying pledge every morning. I have been teaching at Ross Elementary for thirteen years. I enjoyed my first-year experience with my kindergarten class. I would like to thank them for encouraging me to write this book. They wanted me to finish it so I could share it with them.
