About the Book
The 7 Clans of the Anishinaabe simply educates and informs people how the Anishinaabe, or First People, delegated jobs and ran the tribal community peacefully and smoothly. The clans were based on certain animals that each tribal member were born into. The 7 Clans children’s book takes an easy to understand approach to how the Ojibwe culture blended individual differences and strengths to live harmoniously and peacefully with each other.
About the Author
Brenda Antonich is a second grade teacher at ISD 709 in Duluth, Minnesota and a member of the Lake Superior Band of Ojibwe in Red Cliff, Wisconsin. Brenda’s great grandfather founded the Belanger Settlement in Cornicopia, Wisconsin which is now The Frank Belanger Settlement Historical Society. Brenda has two children, one husband and one cat living in Superior, Wisconsin. She enjoys photography, reading and drawing. This is her first children’s book.
