About the Book

How often do we see a person and base our opinion on the way they look or talk, more often the way they dress, what job they have, and the family or home that they came from. As a little girl growing up in the Mississippi Delta, in a small town called Minter City, they had what they called outstanding families, the pillars of the community, church going people, who did no wrong, said no wrong or could do no wrong, a reputation that was unblemished and everybody wanted to be like them, this was only on the outside, God help what was going on behind closed doors. At times in my life, I felt discourage, disappointed, disillusioned and depressed, over my circumstances, Wanting to die I felt that any place is better than this. I told myself that the abuse was caused by me, and if I had not been so bad that it would not have happened, or if I did not do what I did than if would not have happened, but what did I do in the first place, what caused this to come upon me.
