Shamrock Green is a historical romance of approximately 121,500 words. The novel is set in New Orleans in 1835, centering around Erith Kelligan's efforts to avenge her father and come into her rightful inheritance.

Through events beyond her control , she becomes embroiled in controversy with some of the most powerful and wealthy men in New Orleans , and to make matters worse, she is befriended by Agnes Malone, an Irish whore, who causes even more complications in her life. . Her only salvation is her relationship with Adam Chesterfield, a wealthy American, who falls in love with her, giving just the right touch of romance to the novel. By effectively using subplots, the author weaves history and fiction together revealing political corruption, banking schemes, exploitation of laborers by public works projects, and the influence of the infamous voodoo queen, Maire Laveau, on society.

About the Author
An avid reader from an early age, Jean Burr Bradley developed a lifelong love affair with books. Born into a minister’s home, much of her childhood was spent amidst the backdrop of theological discussions which molded her values and ideas. She has taught English from junior high through university levels. Presently, she resides in metropolitan New Orleans. She has three children and two grandsons. The plot moves swiftly and good finally overcomes evil, but it is only after many twists and turns allowing the introduction of colorful characters in subplots such as: Martha’s rapture into heaven, a Gathering of Experts expounding false doctrines interpreting the massive disappearances, Alex’s induction into Satanism, his invocation of demons, and the inner strife within Cleveland himself. The resolution of the conflict is uplifting and promises to leave the reader with hope and looking forward to tomorrow.
