About the Book

Prose, Poems, and Private Reflections might perhaps be a slightly misleading title, since this work is comprised mostly of poems that I have written over several years. In its pages you will find love poems, poems about the absurdities of life, poems about war and heartbreak, poems that relate to my own private search for truth and spirituality in a world that is often deceptive, and often full of pain, sorrow, doubt, and disillusionment. But there is light at the end of the tunnel, and the journey is well worth the effort. And to my mind there is no better way to reach ecstasy then on the viewless wings of poesy. It is my fondest wish that all who read this book will join me in reaping a harvest of love and joy.

About the Author

I have been writing poetry since I was about fourteen years old. I was totally captivated by a poem I read in Life Magazine. It was about the sea. It was four short lines written by an anonymous sailor, and yet it captured all the mysterious beauty of the sea. I also saw a short reel of Robert Frost reading one of his poems. I believe it was about a field of wheat. I recall how his vivid imagery moved my young imagination. I also remember thinking that someday I too would write a book of poems. Prose, Poems, and Private Reflections is my dream book, the one I always wanted to write, the one that is closest to my soul. I hope that anyone who reads it will feel its emotions.
